Personal: California Trip Part 1 & iTunes Card Giveaway!

So.. I know I haven't blogged in a while, but my New Year's resolution is to blog at LEAST once a week.  Sorry though, I totally started 7 days late but it's okay.  I was in California from the end of December until a few days ago, and now that I've recovered, I have decided that I will blog in parts about the trip.  

So.. This is us eating out Sunday night, Dec. 26 after church. We went to Wing Stop which has awesome wings.. I personally love their Garlic Parmesan flavor.. mmmmm....

We had a bit of fun experimenting with the smile feature on my point and shoot. I highly recommend this camera by the way, it's a Sony T5 or something.  Waterproof, shockproof, and can detect different degrees of smiling.. meaning.. it wont' take the picture until you smile.  We had a little too much fun with that...

And my favorite picture of the night. We did a panoramic with my camera. 2nd Contest: JUMP and Win a Target Gift Card!

So it's time to announce my next contest.  Sorry it's like 11pm but today was a busy day! As long as it's still Monday, I didn't break my promise yet, right?  Fred and I went shooting today and found some cool spots :) But anyway, here is the next contest.  

The prize for this is a $20 gift card to TARGET! Yay for TARGET!

For this contest you need to take a picture of either you or your friends or whoever JUMPING! 

Taken with a Nikon D60, 100% real, no photoshop.  People were actually killed to get this picture JK. :)

I require a NEW jumping picture, meaning it is dated within a 2 week period starting today, March 15 and ending March 29. 

IMPORTANT:

Please make sure that your jpeg carries its METADATA or FILE INFO so I can check the date it was created. Also, please take an additional picture of you around that same area so I know it's your picture :)

I don't care if you are shooting with a SLR camera, a point and shoot, or a cellphone, it's all gravy with me!  BUT PLEASE NO FANCY STUFF LIKE PHOTOSHOP. If you wanna adjust the color or contrast a bit, that's fine, but no fancy effects!  And just use the available lighting and such.  

Fred and I will pick our top 2 favorite jumping pictures. Then we will draw randomly from a hat or something and choose a winner.

So, my first contest ended last night, and although a decent amount of people commented on my contest post about entering the contest, only 4 people completed all of the steps and submitted pictures.  While it's not the best turnout, it just means that those 4 people had a 1 in 4 chance of winning the iTunes gift card which is AWESOME!

Thanks for all the submissions, I'm going to post them below.  I loved all the pictures and am so happy you took time out to take some!

But first things first, we need a winner! I put all the names on cards and closed them up, mixed them around, then asked my wonderful husband, Fred, to choose one of the cards so we could have a winner.

Brilliant! Bananas in a lemon tree!!! I love it!!!

And there's grandma with all her bananas hehehe!  Apparently, the fatter bananas are called apple bananas or something?  I never knew that!  I just thought they were... fat bananas.. hehe.

But may this be the start of many contests to come.  I like doing these photo assignments, and I love the creative things that people come up with, or in some cases, crazy lol :) Below are the other submissions!

Okay, so, I am very thankful that I have gained a bunch of fans in the week or so that I've had a Facebook fan page, that's pretty awesome.  Thank you all for your support :)

As a token of thanks (and a way to bribe you to keep supporting me LOL), I am now holding my first NTME Photography contest!  The prize is a $15 iTunes card! Yay! I gotta start small okay? But if you help me get customers, then I'll offer bigger prizes LOL.

 

I would like a picture of a fruit in a place where it wouldn't normally be.   

Basically, I will show you some examples below.  I had a traveling apple when Fred and I went on a trip to San Francisco.  We not only took pictures of ourselves, we also took pictures of the apple at every place we stopped to sight see.  

 

It's random, and people may look at you.  But that's what makes it fun! We want your most creative randomly placed fruit picture. :)  ALSO, we need a picture of you holding your fruit at or near the same scene around the same time so we know that you took that picture. You know, those arms-length photos that people love to take and use as Facebook profile pictures? Hehe.. or get someone else to take a picture of you and your fruit.
