50 Years of Happiness

So about a few weeks ago, Fred and I along with some other members of the Long Beach Photo Society (LBPS) covered a party for the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Phillip and Cora Macaraeg.  They are the grandparents of our friend and fellow LBPS member, Jeff Gabriel.  It was a lot of fun, and so touching to see that after 50 years of marriage, Phillip and Cora are still head over heels for each other.  I only hope that Fred and I will be able to still stand each other after 49 more years as well, hahaha lemme stop :)

Let me tell you how funny these two are.  I asked Cora to place her hands on Philip's hands, and do you know what she told me?  "Why can't I just slap him instead?" HAHAHAHA!  Fred and I were NOT expecting that!  But they are so funny and truly love a good time!  Very young at heart!  I also see where Jeff gets his funny side from :)

Here are some shots!

2010.02.22 & 23 Long Beach Photo Society and Flash Practice

So every Monday a few of our friends and us get together for our photo club, LBPS or Long Beach Photo Society.  Our friend Brian runs the class and teaches us different aspects about photography.  Our class this past Monday was about studio portraits and using flash.  It just so happened that Fred and I received our flash kit just earlier that day and basically, Brian helped us learn how to use it :)  It was a lot of fun, below are some pictures. FYI Edvin  (picture on right just below this paragraph) is holding an old medium format camera or something.

Also, last night before going to bed, Fred and I did some of our own practice shots with studio lighting.  We actually are in the process of ordering one more pocket wizard so we can have a 3 flash set up, especially to bring out hairlights. FYI if you order pocketwizards today, they are 15% off at amazon with promo code POCKETIO. But anyways, practice shooting was a lot of fun, we learned a lot.  Below are some of our test shots.. expect plenty more where those came from haha. Please excuse us being in PJs hahaha.  And also, this is a testament as to why you should always have on make up while in front of a camera HAHAHAHA. SORRY! :)  And to add insult to injury, I didn't retouch these at all so prepare to be scared hahaha :)

So yeah, that's what we've been up to.  Okay ttyl!
