Wedding: Anastasha + Richard

I probably heard the best speeches I've ever heard at a reception. Along with the MOH and the Best Man, family members from both sides had many wonderful stories and memories to share with everyone.  I really felt like through their various stories, I came to know Sasha and Richard even better.  I understood more about where they were coming from, how the various events in their life molded them into the wonderful people they are today.  I saw firsthand how it really could have only been through God's power that they were able to find each other and now embark upon a higher calling together as husband and wife.

I will always remember this wedding for several reasons, but the main memory that gets me all choked up was when Sasha sang "Wind Beneath My Wings" a cappella to her mother:

"It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it.
I would be nothing without you."

It brought me to a place in my mind where I saw myself singing this song to my own mother.   Sometimes when you're young, you don't realize just how much your parents do or sacrifice to make you happy or to make sure you are safe and okay.  It's not until you get older that you really understand and can say "Thank You."

You could feel such deep respect, such unconditional love, and such gratefulness in Sasha's heart as she sang those words to her mom.  It was extra emotional due to the fact that Sasha would soon be leaving her family in Connecticut to live with Richard in Hawaii.  A new chapter began when these two married, but it's never goodbye, it's just 'see you later.'

Sasha & Richard - Thank you sooo much for allowing me to capture your special day.  I am beyond happy for the two of you!   I'm thankful for both the laughter and the tears.  For all of the happiness and love that surrounded me throughout the day. 

It's why I love what I do.

Teaser: Wedding - Anastasha & Richard

Last Friday I had the privilege of capturing the wedding of Sasha & Richard in West Nyack, NY.  I don't want to say too much about it yet, but I have to say, it was a BEAUTIFUL and EMOTIONAL wedding.

The reception was in CT and was great - both fun and emotional to say the least.  So much love was in the air - not just between the bride and groom, but amongst everyone who attended.  And it is such a beautiful thing, the way that God brings two souls together - sigh.

I will write in more detail in the full blog.  But for now, here are some teasers.  I'm so excited to show you them.  I just can't contain myself.  So much more to come.. but please do leave some love for this lovely couple!!

Engagement Session: Anastasha & Richard

Here are more pictures from our session together in Hubbard Park, CT. All I know is that I keep getting blessed with awesome couples who are so fun and wonderful to work with!

Did I mention that Sasha lives in Connecticut and Richard lives in Hawaii!?!?! I love me some long distance relationships!! (I was dating my hubby while he was in Cali and I was in New Jersey hehehe).  God has definitely allowed their love to blossom amidst the distance and time zones between them!  Even while editing their photos, I kept getting this warm tingly feeling inside, there's just too much love and happiness, these pictures are just bursting at the seams with it lol.  It makes doing what I do just THAT much more rewarding!

That little fellow up above traveled back and forth with the two throughout their long-distance relationship to keep them company in the other's absence - AWWWWWWW.  AND Richard proposed with TWO rings - one engagement ring and one is a sapphire ring which is Sasha's birthstone. How SWEET!!! The bottom pic was Sasha's idea - thanks girl!!!

Teaser - Engagement: Anastasha & Richard

So yesterday, I had the pleasure of traveling to Connecticut to meet up with an awesome couple for an engagement shoot.  This shoot comes just one day after they were engaged!  However, it was planned out in advance, since they knew they were going to be together forever already!

Congrats to Sasha and Richard, you guys were so fun to hang out with and get to know!  You can definitely tell that God made you just for each other!  I was so giddy with happiness yesterday.. love is such a beautiful and wonderful thing and I love being around people who are so in love!
